The search for a swimmer who's been missing since last Wednesday ended this afternoon. Sgt. Phillip Cane with Myrtle Beach Police Beach Patrol says the teen's body was recovered at 1:00 p.m. at 29th Avenue North.

In February 2009, three people drowned in a boating accident off Sandy Island in Georgetown County, which is only accessible by boat. In response to that, Georgetown Hospital System and the American Red Cross teamed up to provide free water safety classes.
