Residents of one North Myrtle Beach community are feeling a little landlocked these days. There are only two ways in and out of Barefoot Resort and for the next month and a half, one of them will be closed for repainting a swing bridge.

Starting at 6:00 a.m. Monday, the Barefoot Swing Bridge in North Myrtle Beach will be closed. Contractors are painting the bridge because the paint on it right now is lead based.

Pat Dowling, spokesman for the City of North Myrtle Beach, says if the painting contractor working on the Barefoot bridge finishes its scheduled work today, then all lanes of the bridge will be open on Thursday and Friday.
