Friday, June 24, 2011  Though plans to bring a car ferry to Sandy Island from Alabama have fallen through, island residents and organizers of the Sandy Island Ferry Project say they're not giving up on efforts to continue raising money and looking to acquire another ferry that might serve the island's needs. The island is only accessible by boat.
