A tsunami is a series of seismic sea waves produced by some kind of displacement of the sea floor, usually occuring in an earthquake zone. Experts say conditions in the Pacific Ocean make it prime for the weather event, but there are also features in the Atlantic Ocean that could produce a tsunami on the East Coast.

There's little question that building a wind turbine field off the SC coast would bring new industry and new jobs, but there is a question of whether or not the winds coming off the Atlantic are strong enough to sustain a wind industry and whether or not the turbines would be an eyesore for tourists.
