More than 122,000 people flew out of Myrtle Beach in July, up 10.5 percent over last July. Airport officials say those numbers justify the need for a new airport terminal. The $118 million airport expansion project is well underway and scheduled to be finished by late next year.

While the mercury is rising, so are the number of people coming through Myrtle Beach International Airport. Airport officials say they've never seen an increase in travel through the MB facility like they're seeing now in their entire history.
