Friday, January 11, 2013  Every homeless person in the city of Myrtle Beach will soon be issued an ID card. The card program will be run by an agency that helps those in need, to make sure that dollars intended for the homeless are wisely spent.

They prepared a special full-course luncheon for graduates and guests of the homeless shelter's 12-step addiction program, complete with salad, hors d'oeuvres and entrees.

The most recent available survey results showed there were 1,061 homeless persons in the Horry County in 2009, with a shortage of 627 beds to serve them. A separate survey counted 612 homeless school students in the county.
