Gas prices are on the rise and experts predict the trend will continue. AAA says the average gas price in Myrtle Beach Sunday was $3.50 a gallon. That's up 25 cents from last month and 29 cents from last year.

Gasbuddy.com predicts gas will hit the the five dollars a gallon by Memorial Day, and $4.25 by April. AAA Myrtle Beach says they expect gas to hit at least four dollars a gallon by Memorial Day.

The average price of gasoline is now above $4 per gallon in five states, and it could rise to that level in New York and Washington, D.C., this weekend. Meanwhile, in South Carolina, the average for a gallon of regular is currently $3.61.

A gallon of unleaded regular costs $3.77 on average, which is about 20 cents higher than the average in South Carolina, currently $3.57 for a gallon of regular unleaded. That's causing drivers to cut back on trips.
