A Greenville church is holding a service in memory of a Marine killed in one of the Corps' deadliest aviation training accidents. The 31-year-old living in Montgomery, Ala., was among seven Marines killed in an accident last week on a sprawling desert range near Yuma, Ariz.

The National Transportation Safety Board has determined that a pilot's decision to continue flying during bad weather is probably what led to the crash of a medical helicopter in Georgetown County in September of 2009.

One year after the fatal life care helicopter crash, Horry County is honoring the victims. This afternoon a memorial plaque was unveiled at the Conway Horry County Airport. The daughter of one of the victims helped in the unveiling. The Carolina Life Care Omni flight chopper crashed in Georgetown County.

A replacement chopper came back on duty over the weekend and Carolina LifeCare has resumed service to Horry and Georgetown counties after the September 25th crash that claimed the lives of the pilot, flight nurse, and paramedic.

The National Transportation Safety Board's preliminary report on the fatal medical helicopter crash in Georgetown last month says the chopper was not equipped with a night vision imaging system, an autopilot or a terrain avoidance warning system. The NTSB has recommended that the FAA require all three of those features on all medical helicopters.
