The South Carolina Tea Party Coalition announced Monday the group will hold the first-ever South Carolina Tea Party Convention on Sunday and Monday, January 15-16, 2012, at the Springmaid Beach Resort in Myrtle Beach. Presidential Candidates Michele Bachmann, Newt Gingrich, and Rick Santorum have already committed to attend the convention in some capacity.

The South Carolina Republican Party Chairman Chad Connelly announced details Thursday of what they're calling the "SCGOP Experience" weekend and "First in the South" presidential debate. The debate, which will air on Fox News, will be held at the Myrtle Beach Convention Center on Monday, January 16, but there are events planned starting Saturday, January 14.
