Bennettsville police say a 7-month-old baby boy is out of the hospital and has been placed in the custody of the Department of Social Services. The infant was dropped off by Vondell Malachi after police say he led them on a 20 mile long police chase with the baby in the car.

Bennettsville Police have charged Vondell Malachi, 25 , with murder in the death of Tekeyia Easterling, 20. Authorities tell us Malachi held them at bay for more than 17 hours on Union Street in Bennettsville after a police chase where Malachi allagedly had a baby in his vehicle.
