Three dogs were taken to the Animal Care Center in Conway last February because of neglect or abuse. As of Tuesday, two of the dogs were adopted. The third, Butch, would have been put down within days if he didn't find a home.

In February, two animal cruelty cases brought three dogs into the care of the Horry County Animal Care Center. All three dogs were forced to stay in Horry County's custody until the cases against their owners were resolved and the dogs were nursed back to health.

A cat was found in an abandoned house in the Green Sea community in Horry County on July 7th, shot six times. The orange and white tabby was shot twice with a 22 caliber gun and four times with a pellet gun.
