Former Coastal Carolina All-American Amber Campbell is already hard at work for her quest to become a three time US Olympian.  The top American woman in the hammer throw hosted an exhibition at Doug Shaw Stadium as part of the Shamrock Inviational Track Meet.  Campbell threw over 225 feet on her first throw, her best effort on the day.  That is 13 feet short of her personal best outdoors, but Amber feels it's a good start to her outdoor season in 2013.

Campbell finished 21st at the 2008 Beijing Olympics.  In her second Olympic competition at the 2012 London Games, Campbell finished 13th overall, one spot short of competing in the finals for a medal. Her best throw of 69.93 meters was a mere .55 meters short of reaching the final twelve and the chance to compete for a medal at London's Olympic Stadium. Campbell was the top American finisher.  Campbell filed daily video diaries from London for WPDE Sports and CarolinaLive.com
