Two brothers, ages 14 and 16, were playing with a gun at a home on McQueen Road in the Shannon Community of Robeson County Thursday night, according to Robeson County Sheriff's Office public information officer Randy Graham, when the 16-year-old was shot and killed.

A bullet hit the 16-year-old in the chest, and he died at the home, Graham said.

It's unclear who owned the gun.

The Robeson County Sheriff's Office is investigating.
