A Myrtle Beach man was arrested Thursday once he was released from the hospital for a chase that happened on New Year's Eve.

Eric Jenkins is charged with DUI, Driving under Suspension, and Failure to Stop for a Blue Light.

Police say he refused to stop for a DUI checkpoint about 11:20 Monday night.

Troopers chased him through the Market Common in Myrtle Beach until he crossed Highway 17 Bypass.

They were able to stop his car on Highway 707.
