MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (WPDE) - A man is in custody after Myrtle Beach Police had to chase him on foot and shock him to arrest him.

Michael Barr, 22, was wanted in reference to a burglary that happened on Osceola Street in May, according to a police report.

The incident report says Barr broke into a woman's home while she was sleeping and she awoke to him next to her bed. The report from May said that a Criminal Sexual Conduct Charge may follow.

Around 5 p.m. Saturday Myrtle Beach Police saw Barr on 501 near 3rd avenue south.

Barr then led officers on a foot chase across Highway 501, according to a police report.

Police say Barr ran into a store and attempted to hide an orange medicine bottle, when Barr reached back towards his pants again, an officer shocked him.

After being shocked police put Barr in custody.

Police found multiple white rocks on Barr that tested positive for Cocaine.

Barr is being charged with Criminal Sexual Conduct, third degree, Unlawful Communication, Possession of Methamphetamine, Willfully Resisting Arrest, and Burglary.

He is being held on no bond at the Myrtle Beach Jail.
