Georgetown County Sheriff's Deputies arrested Crystal Bridges, 30, of Conway Wednesday for Filing a False Police Report of a Felony Violation.

Bridges called the Georgetown County Sheriff's Office about 12:30 a.m. Monday to report her car was stolen from the Beaver Bar in Murrells Inlet, according to a press release from the Georgetown County Sheriff's Office.

After deputies filed a report and entered the car as stolen into a national database, the Horry County Sheriff's Office contacted Georgetown County Sheriff's Deputies and advised the vehicle was involved in a hit and run traffic accident involving an off-duty state trooper. That trooper, C.L. Bridges, is Crystal's husband.

Deputies determined Crystal Bridges filed a false police report.

Deputies met with Bridges at the sheriff's office and arrested her. She's being held in Georgetown County Detention Center.

Lance Corporal C.L. Bridges, a Highway Patrol trooper patrolling the Horry County area, is charged with three counts of Leaving the Scene of an Accident with Minor Personal Injury.

Bridges turned himself in to the Horry County Sheriff's office Monday.

Bridges was off duty and in his personal vehicle around 2:45 a.m. Sunday, when he hit three people on the side of the road on Jason Boulevard near the Gold Club on Highway 501, according to sheriff's office spokesman Jeff Benton.

Bridges was suspended without pay on Sunday and then resigned, according to SCDPS spokesperson Sherri Lacobelli. She says he had served with the department since 2007.
