An 89-year-old woman who stopped a robbery in her home received a prestigious award Monday from the Marlboro County Sheriff's Office. Ruby Hodge used her pistol to scare two men away who police say broke into her home.

Marlboro County School District officials say three eighth grade boys passed threatening notes to two eighth grade girls at Blenheim Elementary Middle School last month. They say the notes contained threats and references to the Ku Klux Klan (KKK) and are a form of bullying.

The Marlboro County Sheriff's Office is investigating a deadly shooting at Mohawk Carpet Industries in Blenheim. The shooting happened around 11:45 Friday night. The victim is 31-year-old Dontae Hulon Jarvell Davis of Clio.
