Alonso Suarez is charged with leaving the scene involving death.
State Troopers have arrested a Texas man they say is responsible for a deadly hit and run.
Alonso Suarez, 26, is charged with leaving the scene involving death.
He's being held at J. Reuben Long Detention Center.
State Troopers say Suarez hit a bicyclist at the intersection of Claypond Road and Arrowhead Boulevard just before 2 a.m. Saturday.
Officials found a vehicle belonging to Suarez about two and half miles from the accident.
Horry County Deputy Coroner Darris Fowler says the victim is Todd Evan Elmore, 47. He died from multiple trauma to his torso and head area. Fowler released his name in the hopes that a family member will contact them.
Fowler explains that while Elmore is not homeless he does not have a permanent address. Fowler says he's exhausted all efforts to notify the victims next of kin. He's believed to have family in the Conway area.
If you know Elmore, officials ask you to call the Horry County Police Department at 843-248-1520.
