(AP) -- COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) - South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley has signed a measure that will allow festivals and other special events to continue to obtain temporary alcohol permits.
The measure fixes an oversight by lawmakers last year. They had approved a bill to make it easier for nonprofit groups to obtain temporary alcohol sales licenses. They unintentionally made nonprofit groups the only ones who could obtain temporary licenses.
The temporary measure Haley signed gives lawmakers until June 30th to make a permanent fix in the law.
