A report out Wednesday says Horry County has some of the dirties beaches in the state.
The Natural Resources Defense Council looks at beachwater quality, monitoring frequency and public notification of contamination.
Myrtle Beach received the lowest rating possible, one star on a five star scale.
North Myrtle Beach received three stars.
The report says Grand Strand beaches continue to have contamination problems.
But North Myrtle Beach met water quality standards continuously in 2009.
