You know him as Jared, the Subway guy who lost 245 pounds eating Subway sandwiches. Thursday, he visited a school in Lake City to reward three students.
Jared gave fifth graders, Ja'kayla Andrews, Justice Smith and Zyria McClam $1,000 Subway gift cards. The students drew a picture - which placed first in Subway's Fresh Fit Competition.
Jared hopes he inspires the students with his story.
"To try to get to these kids at an early age and say - hey learn from my mistakes and don't go down the same road that I went down," said Jared Fogle.
Main Street Elementary also received a $1,000 fitness grant from Subway. Congratulations also to Steven Causey of Southside Middle in Florence, who was also recognized by Subway.
