SC Department of Agriculture commissioner, Hugh Weathers stopped by the Holiday Harvest at Broadway at the Beach in Myrtle Beach Thursday morning.
The festival has many highlights including a pumpkin pyramid made up of 3,000 pumpkins. It continues through November 7th.
Thursday, NewsChannel 15 asked commissioner Weathers about the role local crops play in these types of festivals.
