When a patient may be having a heart attack or heart failure, a heart catheterization is often ordered to help with the diagnosis.

While the standard heart cath goes in through the femoral artery in the groin, the radial heart cath goes into the radial artery in the wrist.

Patients are able to sit up immediately after the procedure, and it can improve patient comfort.
