BnWof@aol.com Ben & Jodi WoffordWorld Fastpitch Connection is a girls’ fastpitch softball organization that produces tournaments for girls from 8U to 18U. World Fastpitch Connection is proud to announce the 2010 WFC A Class World Series in Myrtle Beach, SC on August 2-8, 2010. We have received confirmation on our 2010 Berths. These berths are sent in December to WFC directors throughout the country. They in turn set up qualifying events for teams to play. We are excited to predict a 10% increase over 2009. In 2009 the WFC World Series brought in 95 teams for this week long event. These teams held approximately 9,310 room nights spent in Myrtle Beach. The WFC Early Signing Showcase in November 2009 brought in 70 teams. These teams held approximately 2,940 room nights. The WFC Battle at the Beach in November of 2009 brought in 80 teams. These teams held 3,360 room nights. The economic impact on the City of Myrtle Beach through WFC was approximately $6 Million in the year 2009. With all of the economic problems last year we still were at a 5% increase over 2008. We are pleased that we have enabled the Myrtle Beach Sports Tourism to grow. WFC is ecstatic about the City of Myrtle Beach and it’s efforts to continue to expand the Sports Tourism industry. We are now working with the new bid process the City of Myrtle Beach has laid out for the new dates starting in 2011. World Fastpitch Connection is excited and honored to see how we can continue to improve these impact numbers with new complexes and improved fields available to us in the near future.
