Derailing of Sante Fe Station's Train Cars

Press Release:

Local Restaurant Veteran Begins Derailing the Santa Fe Station’s Train Cars to Construct Unique Restaurant Concept in North Myrtle Beach

North Myrtle Beach, SC; March 26, 2008- National restaurant consultant and local restaurateur, Ed Cribb, recently purchased the landmark restaurant, Santa Fe Station, in North Myrtle Beach. Mr. Cribb hired Carrell Homes and Carrell Commercial Construction to remove the historic train cars and rebuild the structure into a uniquely themed restaurant called “Calico Jack’s Galley and Grub,” open for business in Summer 2008.

Ed Cribb is a beacon in the local restaurant industry, starting, managing, and consulting for many of the nicer restaurants on the Grand Strand and Coastal Carolina region.

Calico Jacks Ltd. is the brainchild of Ed, and son, Buddy Cribb of North Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. They selected Carrell Homes and Carrell Commercial Construction as their builder. According to Ed Cribb, “the goal of Calico Jack’s is for our guests to eat outstanding food in an environment that feels as warm and comfortable as home. There is no builder better suited to create this ambiance than Bruce Carrell, who has built elegant homes in the area for over 20 years.”

Carrell Homes and Carrell Commercial Construction celebrated 20 years in business in 2007. In celebration of this anniversary, Carrell Homes introduced a “Renovation Specialist” division of the company that specializes in renovating both homes and commercial projects like Santa Fe Station. According to the company’s founder and CEO, Bruce Carrell, “there are many older homes and businesses in premiere locations that are difficult to find today. Our building team in partnership with our interior design firm, Grand Designs (at the Galleria in NMB), enables us to quickly transform these older structures into more functional spaces with more modern appeal.”
