Cecil Chandler, co-holt of Carolina & Company Live, has become a household name in the Pee Dee and Grand Strand areas over the past 38 years he has been in television.

In 1967 Cecil attended Career Academy in Atlanta where he received his degree in Broadcasting. His career began in radio in 1968; he worked with WDAR, WCOS, and WOLS.

In 1972 Cecil made his move to television and has been very popular with our viewing audience ever since. Cecil often has been the first reporter on some of the most crucial news stories in the Pee Dee and Grand Strand areas. He was the reporter that covered the Darlington Post Office store in 1989 where he discovered mail that could have been delivered thrown in a dumpster.

Now he has teamed up with Amanda Kinseth for Carolina & Co. "Live" on WPDE TV 15 Cecil has a cooking segment "In the Kitchen with Cecil that will air every Wednesday at noon.

Cecil is married and makes his home in Surfside Beach. He has one son that is an electrical engineer with Progress Energy. His pride and joy is his granddaughter Vera Grace and also Tucker Wayne. Over the years Cecil has won numerous state and local awards for his reporting. Cecil was also presented South Carolina’s most prestigious award “Order of the Palmetto” from his long-time friend, Governor David Beasley. Cecil is the only reporter honored twice by Francis Marion University for “Reporter of the Year”. In 2008 he was honored by the South Carolina Broadcasters Association for his accomplishments in the broadcasting industry with one of the industries highest awards, The “Masters Award.” He is now working on his 38th year in television and loves every minute of it.
