Joel brings more than 20 years of reporting, anchoring and news management experience to WPDE.
An Iowa native, Joel earned his Bachelor's Degree in Communications from the University of Northern Iowa in Cedar Falls. Joel spent most of his career working for TV stations in Iowa and Indiana. Joel has covered the campaigns of a number of presidential candidates and won awards for his live spot news reporting and consumer advocacy.
Joel moved to Myrtle Beach in the summer of 1999 and joined WPDE in May of 2002. He and his wife, Deanna, enjoy volunteering for community activities, biking and going to movies.
