Kaila DeRienzo Reporter
School: Penn State University Hometown: Allentown, Pennsylvania
Kaila joined WPDE in March of 2013. She is a recent graduate of the College of Communications at Penn State University and a die-hard Nittany Lions fan. During her time at Penn State, Kaila was an anchor and reporter for The Centre County Report- Penn State's weekly newscast that airs on WPSU-TV. She also interned at WFMZ-TV in Allentown, Pennsylvania. Kaila also worked as an on-air personality and producer for State College's all-hit radio station, B94.5, in the spring of 2012. When she's not reporting, Kaila enjoys participating in local performing arts events, exploring South Carolina's beautiful beaches and spending time at the gym. Crews look for swimmer missing in Waccamaw River

Around 3:30 p.m. Friday, Horry County firefighters and officers with the Department of Natural Resources were called to Red Bluff Landing off Highway 905 in Horry County for a report of a swimmer in distress, according to Leslie Yancey, with Horry County Fire Rescue.
